The 96th Oscars will be held on March 10, 2024. According to reports, the nominations will be revealed on January 24, 2024. Therefore, here’s a list of Oscar 2024 Predictions.
It’s not clear yet which movies will get one of the few spots in each award category, but there have already been some big movies released this year and the Cannes Film Festival, so there are already some movies that sound like they could be nominated, and some people even think they could win all of the awards.
Martin Scorsese, Christopher Nolan, and Ridley Scott are in the lead because they have already released or are about to release strong and impactful historical films this year. However, Wes Anderson and Yorgos Lanthimos are also in the running with movies like Asteroid City and Poor Things.
Pixar and Sony are likely to fight in the animated feature category, since both Elements and Spider-Man: Across the Spider Verse did well at the box office and had important, moving stories and animation styles.

Oscar 2024 predictions: What the nominated movies will be
Napoleon
This movie, with Joaquin Phoenix and Vanessa Kirby, is based on Napoleon’s life. It shows how he rose to power and how his relationship with his wife, Josephine, was sometimes difficult. Scott says that Joaquin Phoenix’s performance as Napoleon is so good that the plot had to be changed to fit what he was doing.
Killers of the Flower Moon
Based on a real story of ambition, crime, and power, this movie is directed by Martin Scorsese and stars Robert DeNiro and Leonardo DiCaprio. In the beginning of the movie, some members of the Osage tribe find oil on their land and realize they can make a lot of money from it. Soon, though, a series of strange murders start to happen, and the FBI has to get involved to figure out what’s going on and catch the killer before they kill everyone.
Teacher
This movie is written, directed, and starred in by Bradley Cooper. Maya Hawke and Carey Mulligan are also in it. This is another story based on real events. It’s about the musician Leonard Bernstein and how he met the woman who would become his wife in the 1940s. It also shows how their love story developed, how they had three children, and how their life was for almost 50 years.

This is one of the biggest and most complex movies Christopher Nolan has ever made. This is the story of J. Robert Oppenheimer, played by Cillian Murphy, Emily Blunt, Matt Damon, Florence Pugh, and Robert Downey Jr., and how he became the leader of the Manhattan Project, where he and other scientists helped make the first atomic bomb, which they planned to use to end World War II before their enemies could.
Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning Part One
In the seventh Mission Impossible movie, Tom Cruise is back as Ethan Hunt. The movie is exciting, intense, and full of action and drama. Rebecca Ferguson, Simon Pegg, and Hayley Atwell also star in the movie. At the beginning, Hunt is given a mission to find a mysterious key that can control a dangerous Artificial Intelligence that can destroy the whole world. This key is also wanted by a group of criminals who want to use it to get more power.
Asteroid City
This movie is directed by Wes Anderson, and it is set in the 1950s in a small, lonely town in the desert of the United States. There, different characters meet up to go to a science and space conference, where a group of kids will get prizes for their inventions. But things get harder when an alien shows up and the helpers have to stay there until the government gives them permission to leave. Scarlett Johansson, Tom Hanks, Margot Robbie, Maya Hawke, and others are in the movie.
Beau is Afraid
Ari Ater is in charge of this movie, which also stars Joaquin Phoenix. The story of Beau is Afraid is about a man’s journey. After his mother dies, he must face his fears and his past as he goes on a scary trip back home, where he hasn’t been in a long time.
Poor things
This movie is based on the same-named book by Yorgos Lanthimos. It is a Frankenstein-style story with a mix of romance and science fiction. The movie tells the story of Bella Baxter, who is brought back to life by a scientific experiment and must learn how to live in the world and what her role in life is. Emma Stone and Mark Ruffalo star in the movie.
Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse
This movie is the follow-up to Into the Spider Verse, which won the Oscar for Best Animated Film in 2019. Here, Miles Morales has trouble balancing his normal life with his life as a hero, but after he meets Gwen Stacy again, he learns that there is a whole multiverse to explore and that there is a secret group with different versions of Spider-Man who are in charge of protecting him. However, they are all in trouble because there is a glitch that can destroy everything. The cool thing about the movie is that each world has a different style of animation.

Nimona
This Netflix cartoon movie is narrated by Chloe Grace Moretz and Riz Ahmed. The animation style looks like hand-drawn pictures, which fits the story very well. He gets help from a strange girl who can change into different animals and has had to live in hiding because people think she is a monster because of this ability.
Elemental
