Coinciding with the 50th death anniversary of Ernesto “Che” Guevara on October 9th, the makers of the upcoming biopic “Che” released the film’s first teaser. Directed by BR Sabawat Naik and produced under the Nature Arts banner, it will be the first Indian biopic on the iconic 20th century revolutionary figure.

The poster and teaser launch was graced by the presence of Dr. Alaida Guevara, daughter of Che Guevara, adding great significance to the occasion.

BR Sabawat Naik to Play Lead Role

BR Sabawat Naik is essaying the titular role of Che Guevara in the film. The talented star cast also includes Lavanya Sameera, Pula Siddeshwar, Karthik Nuney, Vinod and Pasala Uma Maheshwar. Filmmakers Share Excitement on Milestone Project

Speaking at the teaser launch event, director BR Sabawat Naik expressed, “It’s an honor to bring the inspirational story of Che Guevara to the Indian audience. We have authentically captured his struggles and sacrifices in the biopic.”

He shared that Dr. Alaida Guevara’s presence at the poster launch was an incredibly humbling opportunity. The initial response to the teaser has been overwhelming.

Film Slated for November Release

The production team shared that post-production work is now complete on “Che” and the film’s first copy is ready. It will soon undergo censor certification before gearing up for a tentative November 2023 release in India.

The biopic is a collaborative creative effort by producers Surya, Babu and Devendra. Acclaimed musician Ravi Shankar has composed the background score.
