In the game Spider-Man: Friend or Foe, when Spidey meets Rhino, he says, “We’re starting to scrape the bottom of the villain barrel, huh? Who’s going to do it next? The Hypno-Hacker? And really, that phrase could be used to describe Sony. After announcing a movie about El Muerto, a villain who only appeared in a couple of issues, Sony is now betting on another unpopular villain for his own movie in the vein of Venom and Morbius, which have not turned out very well, especially since they are missing a key element: Spider-Man.
Hypno-Hustler the Movie
It has been announced that Donald Glover, who is best known for his work on Atlanta or his music as Childish Gambino, will be in charge of a movie about Hypno-Hustler that doesn’t have a name yet.
Reports say that Glover will produce and star in the movie, which will take place in Sony’s world of Spider-Man characters.
Rights are a complicated subject. Disney already owns most of Marvel’s characters, but Sony still has Spider-Man and all of his bad guys. Tom Holland’s Spider-Man was co-produced, and Sony is in charge of the Venom and Morbius movies, as well as the upcoming Kraven the Hunter and El Muerto movies, which are based on another villain of the character we don’t know much about yet.
Who is Hypno-Hustler?
The Hypno-Hustler was made by Bill Mantlo, who is also the person who made Rocket Racoon from the Guardians of the Galaxy. He was made in the 1970s and was inspired by the disco scene. He first appeared in Peter Parker, the Spectacular Spider-Man in 1978.

His real name is Antoine Delsoin, and he is in a band called the Mercy Killers. The Mercy Killers use performance hypnosis technology to take control of the minds of their audience and steal from them. He hasn’t been in the comics more than 20 times, but it seems like that’s what drew Donald Glover to it because it makes the character less important and gives him a chance to reinterpret it in his own way.

The truth is that Donald Glover seems to be a great choice for the role. He can sing and act, which could make this movie musical, and he also writes screenplays, which could make for an interesting story. On the other hand, Glover has been talked about as a possible Miles Morales for a long time. He even played his uncle Aaron Davis in Spider-Man: Homecoming, which makes this an interesting opportunity.
Will Spider-Man Appear in the Movie?
Spider-Man hasn’t shown up in the Sony universe yet, except for a cameo in the last scene of Venom 2, when Venom goes to the Marvel universe for a short time and sees Peter Parker on TV.
In one of the strangest after-credits scenes ever, The Vulture (Michael Keaton) comes from the Marvel Universe to Morbius’ universe to look for him and tells him they should look for Spider-Man. No one knows what the plan will be for the future or if Tom Holland will be the Spider-Man they face.
At the moment, there is neither a trailer nor a date for the movie’s release. Also, the cast has not been set in stone. We’ll let you know when we find out more.
