Lupin 3 is on the way, and, according to some reports, we could see it later this year.
The series with Omar Sy is one of the most successful foreign productions on Netflix and one of the French series that has managed to reach the top 10 with its first two seasons, and now we are going for a third part that will continue the story of Assane Diop.
Lupin is based on the famous books of the same name, where the adventures of an infamous criminal gentleman are recounted, who commits the most incredible robberies with great elegance, in the style of Thomas Crown and other legendary movie characters, but the series has given its own twist to the story.
In the second season, an agent who spends the first two parts of the series hunting down Assane Diop (who goes from wanting to avenge his father to having to rescue his son) is given the nickname Ganimard, who happens to be one of the main Lupin’s enemies in the famous books by writer Maurice LeBlanc, and that’s a hint about season 3.

A first teaser for the series was released a few months ago, where it was confirmed that, after avenging his father and revealing the truth of his case and having to protect his family, Assane is now the most wanted criminal in France, and this is why it must disappear.
The police are still after him, so Diop must use his skills to keep his identity hidden and avoid being caught by those who are after him while society tries to decide if he is a hero or a villain.

Netflix confirmed months ago that the French series would have a second season, but initially two tentative options were reported: May 10 (which we already know is not the real date) and October 5, which is the date that has just been announced. confirm with an official poster on the Netflix account.
The Cast of Lupin 3
Omar Sy returns as Assane Diop for this new chapter in the story, while Ludivine Sagnier is back as Claire, and Soufiane Guerrab is back as Detective Guedira, who is called by Lupin Ganimard, which may point to a major change for the character.
For now, it has not been revealed who the new actors are who could join the series, but without a doubt, we will see some new characters.
What is Lupin 3 about?
It is not known what exactly is going to happen in the series, but we do know that, after rescuing his son, Assane Diop must go on the run as he is considered one of the most wanted criminals by the police.
We also know that Assane will have a new mission and that we will probably see more robberies, but the thief will also have to try to find a way to earn his freedom and to stay one step ahead of the authorities.
Ganimard is one of his enemies in the books, so we may see Detective Guedira further exploit his obsession to stop Diop once and for all, and that may lead him to pursue unorthodox methods. In addition, it has yet to be revealed who else is involved in the police corruption network.
