During an appearance on NFL+ with host Andrew Siciliano, the NFL player was asked about his suspected relationship with the singer, following allegations that he had tried to give the “Lavender Haze” singer his phone number earlier this year during one of her shows. “The only thing anyone really wants to talk about is Taylor Swift,” Siciliano stated in an interview that has subsequently been reshared on TikTok. “Did you really have your phone number on a friendship bracelet ready to give Taylor?”
Kelce appeared to acknowledge that the accusations about him attempting to offer Taylor his phone number were real. “I said exactly what I stated. And I meant what I stated at the time. And you know what, it is what it is,” he continued, before remaining tight-lipped regarding their marital status. “I’m not gonna talk about my personal life,” he continued.
The Kansas City Chiefs tight end went on to playfully tease listeners. “I know what you writers want to hear, and you want to hear more about it, and I’m not going to give you anything,” he said, pointing to the camera. Siciliano, on the other hand, pressured him for more. “Has she reached out?” he inquired, but Travis remained silent. “And that’s going to wrap it up here,” he added, bringing the interview to a close.
Taylor Swift Responds to Travis Kelce Dating Rumors
Fans are wondering if Taylor Swift responded to Travis Kelce dating rumors by wearing an opal necklace on a New York outing (see photographs here). Swifties were quick to point out that opal is the birthstone for October, and Kelce’s birthday is October 5.
“Kelce is a libra, and opal is our birthstone,” one Swiftie noted on @taylorswiftstyled’s Instagram picture featuring the star’s jewelry; “I’ve put my [clown emoji] makeup on and I’m listening,” another responded. “despite the fact that I believe the Kelce’s [sic] started the dating rumor in order to promote their documentary… “Opal is the birthstone for October, and Travis was born in October,” another person pointed out. According to ET sources, the couple isn’t an item—but that doesn’t mean they don’t have feelings for each other. “Travis has been into Taylor for a while and definitely has a crush on her,” a source told ET. He’s a simple person who loves football and is really witty, charismatic, and easygoing.”
NFL broadcasters were having a field day with the jokes on Sunday, September 17, 2023, and he appears to be taking it all in stride. When Kelce scored against the Jacksonville Jaguars, commentator Ian Eagle remarked, “Kelce finds a blank space for the score,” referring to Swift’s song “Blank Space” from her 1989 album, later adding that the champion tight end could “shake it off” after suffering a knee injury in practice a few weeks prior, another reference to a T-Swift song, “Shake It Off.”

Rich Eisen of NFL Network chipped in on Twitter with a list of Swift hits while covering Kelce’s return to the field, including “Delicate,” “Anti-Hero,” and “August.” Eisen captioned an Instagram video of the broadcast, “Look what you made me do, @killatrav.” “Well played, Rich,” Kelce said. “Well played.”
Kelce appeared to tell out about his crush on the singer two months previously during an episode of the podcast “New Heights,” in which he said that he tried to give her a friendship bracelet with his phone number on it before one of her Eras Tour shows at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City. “I was disappointed because she doesn’t talk before or after her shows because she has to save her voice for the 44 songs that she sings, so I was a little butthurt I didn’t get to hand her one of the bracelets I made for her,” he revealed at the time.
Jason Kelce, the football player’s brother, had an amusing theory about why Taylor didn’t end up seeing them that night: “She probably just hasn’t gotten over the Super Bowl yet,” Jason remarked. “She’s a big Eagles fan, so maybe she just made something up and didn’t want to talk to you,” Travis joked, adding, “Dammit!”
