Maya Benberry, Travis Kelce’s ex-girlfriend, does not approve of his new connection with Taylor Swift and has warned the singer to “stay away.”
Kelce and Benberry dated for a few months after she won his E! dating reality show Catching Kelce in 2016. Benberry has been on various reality TV series and in music videos since breaking up with the Kansas City Chiefs tight end.
Benberry, 31, accused Kelce, 33, of cheating on her with sports broadcaster Kayla Nicole in a series of now-deleted tweets around the time of their divorce. “When you and your ex broke up five months ago but you discover on social media that he’s allegedly been in another relationship for six…” she allegedly wrote, according to the Daily Mail. Kelce, 33, and Swift, 33, were spotted together for the first time this weekend after their romance had been suspected since July. The “You Need To Calm Down” singer celebrated Kelce and the Chiefs’ victory over the Chicago Bears with an intimate date.
Taylor Swift, on the other hand, is being cautioned by Benberry as she begins on this new romance. “Once a cheater, always a cheater,” she told the Daily Mail in an interview. “Taylor seems like such a fun girl with a beautiful spirit so I wish her the best of luck but I wouldn’t be a girls’ girl if I didn’t advise her to be smart!”
She went on: “I’m sure by now she has mastered the ability to see who is really there for her – and who is just using her.”
Kelce also faced adultery charges throughout his engagement with Nicole, which ended abruptly in 2020. At the time, he rejected the charges, and the pair reconciled months later.
