Here is a list of all the new Netflix movies coming out in January that you can’t miss.

The Pale Blue Eye

In this thriller, Christian Bale plays a New York detective in 1830 who is looking into a series of murders with a young Edgar Allan Poe. This work has a lot of potentials and could be up for more than one award. It was inspired by some of the famous author’s stories.

Release date: January 6, 2023.

Your Place or Mine

In this movie, Reese Witherspoon and Ashton Kutcher will play characters who move for a week. He takes care of her best friend’s son while she goes after a long-held goal. We don’t know much else about the movie, but from what we know so far, it sounds like a tragicomedy.

Release date: February 10, 2023.

Luther

Based on the same-named book, Luther was first a cult-favorite TV series starring Idris Elba as the title character, a detective who has to prepare cases against criminals while dating a murderer. The play had 20 episodes, and now there will be a prequel to this movie that is about to come out. To find out if it will be better than the series, we will have to wait until it comes out on Netflix in 2023.

Release date: March 2023.

The Mother

In this action-drama movie, Jennifer Lopez will play a former assassin who comes out of retirement to protect her daughter. Her relationship with her daughter is complicated. It will put the actress in the spotlight as an action hero. It will be directed by Niki Caro, who did Mulan. The play will also have Gael Garca Bernal in it.

Release date: May 2023

Maestro

This movie about the life of Leonard Bernstein is written, directed, produced, and starred by Bradley Cooper. Bernstein is known as one of the best composers in history, but he was also a teacher, author, and philanthropist. During his life, he did things like work for civil rights, protest against the Vietnam War, and raise money for HIV/AIDS research.

Chicks on the Run: Dawn of the Nugget

It’s been 23 years since Chickens on the Run influenced a whole generation of babies and stoners with its amazing clay animation. The movie is about a group of chickens who decide to run away when they find out they will be turned into pies.

The sequel, called Dawn of the Nugget, will come out this year. The same characters will be played by a different cast.

Release date: 2023.

Extraction 2

In the second part of this thriller, Chris Hemsworth is back. Spoilers if you haven’t seen it: At the end of the movie, Tyler, the character he plays, seems to be dead, but it turns out that he is still alive. In this second part, he is ready for another undercover mission.

Joe Russo, one of the brothers who made Avengers: Endgame, wrote the script. Director Sam Hargrave is back with his brutal style of action, and one of the Russo brothers, Anthony, wrote the story. So, let’s see if this second part is better than the first.

Netflix has a long list of other shows and movies coming out in 2023, but no release dates have been announced yet, so we will have to wait to find out more.
