I Am Legend (or I Am Legend) was released in 2007 and became a huge box office success thanks to Will Smith, a dog, and his fight to save humanity.

The film is based on the novel by Richard Matheson. It follows a man named Robert Nevill (played by Will Smith), who is the only survivor left in New York City, which is devastated after a zombie epidemic forces many to flee and leaves millions dead around the world.
Robert is not only trying to survive in a fortified house with a great security system to avoid the zombies; he is also looking for a cure to reverse the effects of the infection that turned people into monsters and, with the help of his dog, goes hunting to get subjects for his experiments.
How did the First Soy Leyenda Movie End?
Robert goes out with Sam, his dog, to look for zombies to study, but on one of his hunts, things go wrong, Sam dies, and he is left alone. He eventually gets out again and, again, has an accident. He is rescued by a woman and her child, who take him home.
The problem is that the zombies follow them to that place, so they must try to run away and reach a place where, according to rumours, there are more survivors. But the house is surrounded, so Robert sacrifices himself so that Ethan and Anna (the woman and child who rescued him) can escape, taking the cure that can save humanity.

At the end of the movie, we see what they thought was true: there is a place where there are survivors and high fences that prevent the zombies from approaching, and everything ends with them being received in that place.
What is the Sequel to I am Legend about?

The sequel has already been confirmed, and although not many details have been revealed yet, Will Smith was in charge of sharing the first set photo a few months ago.
Also, Akiva Goldsman, the film’s screenwriter, recently told GamesRadar that the sequel could take inspiration from The Last of Us: “This will start a few decades later than the first. I’m obsessed with The Last of Us, where we see the world right after the apocalypse but also after a lapse of 20 to 30 years. You see how the land reclaims the world; there is something beautiful about the man who walks away from being the main tenant. What happens? That will be especially visible in New York. “I don’t know if they will go to the Empire State Building, but the possibilities are endless.”
In addition, in his interview, he explained that the story could be that of the alternate ending of the book. “This one will start a few decades later than the first.” We go back to Matheson’s original book and an alternate ending as opposed to the ending released in the original film. Matheson was talking about how man’s time on the planet as the dominant species had ended. It is something exciting that we are going to explore. There will be a little more fidelity to the original text.
In this alternate ending, Neville manages to survive and discovers that the zombies are also trying to save the world. He frees his experiment subjects and, along with Ethan and Anna, leaves New York to try to find the survivor colonies.
Who will be in the Cast of I am Legend?
For now, it is only known that Will Smith and Michael B. Jordan are part of the cast. Smith will reprise the character of Robert Neville, but it has not been confirmed who Jordan will be.
