3. Cyberpunk Edgerunners
In a world where technology has literally been integrated into human bodies, David Martinez is a young man who decides to live as an outlaw mercenary. Unfortunately, each new modification and his impulsive nature end up leading him into a psychedelic, bloody, and neon-lit journey to survive in a city with a machine heart.
Cyberpunk Edgerunners is one of the best anime series to come out in 2022 and one of the best movies on Netflix in the genre. The show not only shines for its animation but also for having a series of episodes that stand out for the drama, action, and emotion they deliver. Despite being inspired by cyberpunk video games, it is not necessary to have played these titles to enjoy them, although you will surely find many references that will make you smile.
4. Hi Score Girl
Haruo is obsessed with video games, especially arcade fighting titles. However, one day he loses to his classmate Akira, the rich girl in the class, in Street Fighter II. Obsessed with defeating her, he then begins a journey to defeat her, which will lead him to discover her first love.
Hi Score Girl’s animation may not be to everyone’s taste, but we hope this doesn’t take you away from one of the best anime on Netflix, especially if you happen to be a lover of classic video games. Retsuko is an office worker in Japan, with a macho and abusive boss, without a partner, seeking economic independence, and under the pressure of not feeling like she is moving forward in her life. Fortunately, Retsuko has a great way to release pressure: singing metal in karaoke.
Aggresuko is the perfect anime for those who are bored with the routine of work and often feel the need to scream into their pillow after a long day at the office. In fact, it’s often easy to relate to many of the situations and events in anime.
