The scariest time of the year is coming up, and Netflix wants to win over viewers with its newest movie, Mr. Harrigan’s Phone, which is based on a story by Stephen King, the master of horror.

The horror-thriller starring Jaeden Martell and Donald Sutherland was made by John Lee Hancock (The Blind Side). He adapted Stephen King’s short story of the same name from his book If It Bleeds into a script for this movie.

What is Mr. Harrigan’s Phone about?

When Craig, a young man from a small town (Jaeden Martell), befriends Mr. Harrigan, a reclusive older billionaire (Donald Sutherland), they start to bond over their love of books and reading, which seems like an unlikely thing to do.

Craig and Mr. Harrigan spend more time together as their friendship grows. The boy gives his new friend a phone so they can talk better. So, Craig is devastated when Mr. Harrigan dies.

As if that wasn’t bad enough, Craig’s problems at school are getting worse as the bullies keep getting worse. Without any idea where to start, the young man decides to look for his friend, but when Mr. Harrigan answers the phone, he is confused.

Craig will find out the hard way that not everything is gone, and strangely, a wave of revenge starts to hit his closest friends, showing that some connections can never be lost.

“More than anything else, it’s about how an 80-year-old billionaire and a young man form an unlikely friendship. It’s also about friendship bonds and how far you’ll go for a friend. It’s also not a horror story, but if you liked The Shawshank Redemption, Stand By Me, or The Green Mile and you like Stephen King, this might be for Hancock told Tudum that the author of the original book had changed the script for the movie.

This isn’t necessarily everything in the novel, but because it’s a novel and only about 80 pages long, you have to figure out what I think he’s trying to say thematically and use some of that within scenes.

What does the Critic say about Mr. Harrigan’s Phone?

Even though there are no professional reviews of the movie yet, the story on which it is based has been reviewed and criticized all over the Internet.

In this way, people have different opinions about Mr. Harrigan’s Phone, which is seen by many as a classic work by Stephen King because of the way he writes and how he creates a small universe around a very good plot.

On the other hand, some people say that the story doesn’t have anything new to say because, even though it’s well written, it could be told in fewer pages or with more details to deepen the story and the relationship between the main characters.
