If you can’t find anything to watch on Netflix or another service, you’re sure to find a good movie on Star+. Even though its catalog isn’t very big, it has quite a few good movies and a few franchises that are good for a weekend of light entertainment.

If you have a Star+ subscription, here are the 25 best movies that you can watch right now on that platform.

Best Movies Available on Star+

1. Dam (2022)

Presa is without a doubt one of the best remakes of a well-known Hollywood franchise. It takes the good parts of the original and adds a modern twist that makes us take all the works more seriously. Here, we follow Naru, a young Comanche who wants to be a great hunter to protect the people from her.

When the infamous Predator shows up and starts going on his own hunts, Naru has to act to keep from becoming the Predator’s next meal.

2. The Mummy (1999)

As Brendan Fraser’s career comes back to life, it seems important to look back at his work on the Mummy movies (all of which are on Star+). In the play, Rick is an adventurer like Indiana Jones who gets lost in the City of the Dead and accidentally lets out a supernatural monster.

Even though people had different feelings about it when it came out, Fraser’s talent and charm were enough to keep us glued to the screen and make it something of a modern classic.

3. FreeGuy (2021)

Ryan Reynolds stars in this movie, which has more surprises than we could have imagined. The story is about a non-playable character in a massive online game who, by getting special glasses, can change the world around him and get rid of a threat in the game.

It’s funny and unexpectedly entertaining, and there are a few references to video games, but it’s for everyone.

4. The Martian (2015)

Matt Damon gives what might be the best performance of his career as an astronaut who gets stuck on Mars and has to figure out how to grow food until a rescue team comes to get him.

Aside from the story, the movie has pretty accurate information about biological science on Mars and the possibility of making food in a controlled space.

5. Inglourious Basterds (2009)

Definitely, Quentin Tarantino’s masterpiece, in which he looks back at history during World War II and creates a paramilitary group called The Bastards, which is made up of Jews who want to kill as many Nazis as possible. In the meantime, we follow different stories about characters who all go to the movies.

She gives us a happy ending, or at least a happier one, by being smart, cruel, and not making light of the crimes that were done at the time.

6. The Favorite (2018)

Odd genius Yorgos Lanthimos’s first “mainstream” play looks at the relationship between cousins Sarah Churchill, Duchess of Marlborough, and Abigail Masham (played by Rachel Weisz and Emma Stone) as they try to be the Queen’s favorite Ana, who has emotional problems.

Without taking into account the strange style of the director, we see the development of manipulative relationships and betrayals in the style of Shakespeare, which leads to one of the most interesting works of the decade.

7. Birdman (2014)

Possible best work by Alejandro González Iárritu, in which he gives up his favorite multi-arc stories in favor of a single character who is followed through a false sequence shot. The main character is played by the great Michael Keaton as an actor who became famous for playing a superhero in the 1990s. He tries to stay in the spotlight by taking on a serious role in the theater, but everyone around him seems to make his mental health worse, which is quickly getting worse.

It has a great soundtrack and great cinematography by Emmanuel Lubezki. No other movie from that decade can compare to it.

8. The Godfather (1972)

All of The Godfather’s movies are available on the platform, with part three being the most recent update from director Francis Ford Coppola. The story is about Michael Corleone, who is the son of a mob boss. He tries to stay away from his family’s businesses, but he can’t help but get sucked into them, and he loses his identity along the way.

9. Against the Impossible (2019)

One of the best racing movies is about a group of Ford engineers and designers who are trying to make a new race car that is faster than those made by Ferrari. The 24 Hours race is the final event. 1966 Le Mans.

As the project managers, Christian Bale and Matt Damon give some of their best performances. They represent two different ideas of engineering at the same time.

10. Three Billboards Outside Ebbing Missouri (2017)

Martin McDonagh, the master of black comedy, has made a masterpiece. Even though he has a sad past, the man is able to paint a portrait of rural America that is both hopeful and critical. A mother puts up three billboards in which she slams the local police for not doing enough to find out who raped and killed her daughter.
