Fan of the Warrens’ ghost hunting? The good news is that The Conjuring 4 is on its way.
After The Conjuring 3: The Devil Made Me Do It did well at the box office, even during the pandemic, the next part of this successful horror series was confirmed.
The Hollywood Reporter says that the movie will be written by David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick and produced by James Wan and Peter Safran.
Johnson-McGoldrick is one of the people who started the horror franchise, and he often works with Wan. He wrote the scripts for the second and third Conjuring movies, and he also wrote the script for Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, which is one of the most anticipated movies in the DC Extended Universe.
Who is part of the cast of The Conjuring 4?
The team of Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga will be back, as expected.
It was Wan himself who confirmed the news with a post on his Instagram. The two of them have played paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren in four of the eight movies that make up the Conjuring Universe.

Wilson and Farmiga’s last big role as the Warrens was in The Conjuring 3: The Devil Made Me Do It (2021), which came out last summer. Despite the global health crisis, the movie was a box office hit. Covid-19 and helped bring the total box office for the series to more than $2.1 billion. With a total budget of only $178 million, The Conjuring has become the highest-grossing horror franchise to date and one of the most successful franchises in the world.

There isn’t much news yet about how this project will be run, but it’s possible that Michael Chaves, who was in charge of directing El Diablo Me Obligó a Hacelo, will do it again, though he will have to wait until he’s done with another Conjuring Universe spin-off, The Nun 2, which just started filming in France this month.
What will The Conjuring 4 be about?
The plot of The Conjuring 4 hasn’t been revealed yet, but since the series is based on the real-life cases of Ed and Lorraine Warren, Johnson-McGoldrick has access to thousands of archives from which to draw ideas.
Even though there are many possibilities, Johnson-McGoldrick, who started his career as a horror writer with 2009’s The Orphan and went back to write its prequel, The Orphan: Inception, knows that the real secret ingredient in one of the Conjuring movies is Ed and Lorraine Warren’s undeniable chemistry and unbreakable partnership.

When I was writing this script, it was important to me that Ed and Lorraine never fight. He wrote on Twitter while promoting The Conjuring 3: The Devil Made Me Do It, “I think one of the things people like about them is that they have this fantasy relationship that we all want.” So, get ready to see the powerful Warrens in action once more.
