Black Panther is significant because it ushered in a more diverse era for Marvel (Shang-Chi and Mrs. Marvel would not exist without it), raised millions of dollars, and demonstrated that a great film can be made by breaking the formula, stereotypes, and schemes, and making a sequel will be difficult.

From the first day of the film’s release, it was clear that this could be the start of another great franchise for the MCU, and Marvel did not waste any time in confirming that they would be developing a sequel to continue telling the story of T’Challa, Shuri, Nakia, and Okoye, and that this one would have to be much better than the first.

Before work on the sequel could begin, Chadwick Boseman, the actor who played T’Challa in the first film, died after a battle with colon cancer, leaving his millions of fans around the world wondering what would happen, how they would deal with the death of the actor in the film, and where the story could go in the future.

Kevin Feige finally confirmed during Disney Investors Day (where all the Marvel movies and series in development were announced) that they will not look for a new T’Challa to replace Chadwick Boseman, which means that one of the characters from history or a new one must “inherit” the Black Panther costume, but it is still too early to know who it could be.

Trailer official

Marvel has released the official teaser for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, which features more of Tenoch Huerta as Namor and a glimpse of the war that will erupt between Wakanda and his people.

The official posters for the film highlight the characters’ new attire, with Tenoch Huerta’s look being inspired by the traditional garments of old Latin American nations.

Namore’s appearance

Tenoch Huerta as Namor, the film’s major villain, has been photographed wearing gold necklaces, earrings, and accessories in an antique manner, which corresponds to his character’s past.

What information is available about Black Panther 2: Wakanda Forever?

Black Panther 2 Release Date

According to Marvel, director Ryan Coogler will return to direct the sequel, which will be released in the United States on November 10, 2022.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is the title of the sequel.

What is the plot of the story?

We know there won’t be a new T’Challa (that would have ruined the story) and that the Black Panther costume will be a character from Wakanda’s world, plus Coogler wants to focus on showing much more of Wakanda and the characters we met in the first film, and the film will touch on Boseman’s death and pay tribute to him.

Following the events of Avengers: Endgame, the sequel poses a new threat to the people of Wakanda. The Wakandans will battle Namor and his army on this occasion, as they deal with the death of their monarch and the coming of a new Black Panther to take his place.

T’Challa learns in the first film, when he meets with the former Black Panthers, that there will always be someone to guard Wakanda, therefore the film needed to identify a good successor, and all signs point to Shuri, Wakanda’s younger sister. T’Challa.

In 2009’s Black Panther: The Deadliest of the Species series, Shuri takes over as Black Panther after T’Challa falls into a coma after battling Doctor Doom.

Who’s coming back for the Black Panther 2?

Lupita Nyong’o, Danai Gurira, Winston Duke, Letitia Wright, Angela Bassett, Martin Freeman, and Daniel Kaluuya are obvious contenders, and several have already been confirmed, but this time there will be new characters and actors, most notably Tenoch Huerta, who will portray namor.

Martin Freeman, Eric Bana, and Michael B. Jordan are also included on the Google search page, however this could be an error because his character died in the first film (or it could be an element of the new multiverse that Marvel is building ).

In addition, Variety says that actress Michaela Coel, creator of the series I May Destroy You, will join the cast, though her role has yet to be announced.

“It’s clearly very emotional without Chad,” Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige said, according to Variety. “But everyone is also quite enthusiastic to reintroduce the world of Wakanda to the public and the fans.” We’ll accomplish it in a way that will make Chad proud.”
