Gerard Buttler has been one of the most important actors for decades because he knows how to change up his career. He has done everything from romantic movies and dramas to cult movies and action movies during his career.

Coriolanus (2011)
Caius Martius, who is played by Ralph Fiennes, is better known as Coriolanus. He is a fearsome and cocky general whose job is to protect Rome from its enemies. Coriolanus’s ambitious mother pushed him to run for consul, which put him at odds with the people and made some of his colleagues dislike him. When a mutiny gets Coriolanus kicked out of Rome, he goes to find his sworn enemy, Tullus Aufidius ( Gerard Butler ). The two of them promise to work together to destroy the big city.

The Lighthouse (2018)
Three lighthouse keepers find themselves on an empty island with only an empty lighthouse. Thomas (Peter Mullan), James (Gerard Butler), and Donald (Connor Swindells) start their daily routines, but then something unexpected happens: they find something strange that isn’t exactly what a lighthouse keeper should be on the lookout for. When they see a ship that might have all the answers, things get more complicated. A thrilling movie that comes highly recommended.

As the end of the world draws near, their incredible journey ends with a desperate, last-minute flight to a place that might be safe.

300 (2006)
In 480 BC, Persia, led by King Xerxes (Rodrigo Santoro), and Greece are at war with each other. At the Battle of Thermopylae, Leonidas, king of the Greek city-state of Sparta (played by Gerard Butler), leads his soldiers against the huge Persian army. Even though the Spartans are sure to die, his sacrifice gets all of Greece to work together to fight their common enemy. One of his most well-known films.

RocknRolla (2008)
Lenny Cole, played by Tom Wilkinson, is an old-school gangster who rules London’s criminal underworld with an iron fist and a group of thugs who will do anything. Big-time mobsters and small-time criminals fight over a Russian mobster’s shady land deal. One Two (Gerard Butler), a street hustler, tries to play both sides of the fence when the lucrative deal falls into the hands of the alleged son of the mobster. Lenny’s dead.
